This time of year in northern hemisphere is a time for star gazing and looking for shooting stars/meteor showers.
This is image brings up some awesome memories.
In Fall of 2001, Max and I got up at 5am to go to Wollaston beach to watch a great stream of meteor showers. I get teary eyed thinking of it.
I was pregnant with Emily and we were still in Quincy in small apt. It was (and always is) an amazing nature Show. We looked up into the dark sky to see the stars and spotted each falling star that we could. We decided to make wishes on them falling stars. I’ve note some of the wishes, like a house/home, healthy baby,…. and look at my life presently in awe.
2 beautiful girls, a house/home, a place for my art to create, 1st solo show, other opportunities to show and sell my art.
Just sitting with this , all I can say is WOW, Thank you.

Embroidered J on 3 towels.
This kind of stitching is called crewel embroidery.
I used to do hand embroider and work for a co. that made masonic items. Co. closed in 2001.
This past year it was interesting to get invited by friend to a masonic installation. I had never been to one before or seen them in entire uniform and such. It was cool to see and know the work behind some of the items they wore.

Fly Upward
Saturday, August 7th, 2010“Fly Upward”
We had a wildlife rescue in our yard recently. I was looking out the window and noticed our neighbor’s cat stalking and jumping away from something in our garden. I went out to look but didn’t see anything at first. My husband called me back out when he found it. It was a young robin that had one wing slightly hurt and couldn’t fly. I called animal control and they came to pick it up. They took it to the local wildlife rehabilitation.
I called a couple of days later for an update on the robin. It turned out that they were able to help it and eventually it moved to a fostering home to heal and be released when well. She mentioned the young ones have a pretty good chance of recovery and release. It was one of a few robins that had been brought in to the wildlife rehab.
Good to know there are those out there to lend a helping hand. We felt good about our deed.
In these times it’s a good point to remember that there is help and hope.
Life is meant to be lived to the fullest.
Bring out your talents and share it with the others.
A small act can make so much of a difference.
So stretch your wings, strengthen them to the wind and Fly.

“Snow Leopard” is my latest scratch board image I created from a photo I took at the zoo of the snow leopard.
This art work will be among my other scratch board works presented in my upcoming “White on Black” 2011 calendar, which will be available for purchase.
