“Look, See”
Now that spring is turning to summer, travel has increased for folks. And along with that there is road construction—or destruction at times, as my mom has said.
On the S curves part of Rte. 95 that bypasses Pawtucket, they’ve rebuild one of the main bridges. We often travel on Rte. 95 to go visit family.
I happen to notice once or twice while on the highway that at a couple of overpasses there was a mural that was painted on the retaining walls.
Here’s one of them.

I remember another one, but couldn’t find it. Perhaps it was temporary.
Here’s a link about the project.
Highway Beautification
I thought it was cool. So I’m sharing it.
Art is everywhere.
Well not exactly ‘everywhere”, but it’s around us. It’s in our lives.
Who stops to admire it?
Are we so inundated with sounds, images, messages and such that we don’t stop and notice.
Or do we?
Do we filter out the noise? Do we focus on what enriches us?
Just asking.
If you feel compelled to share your experience or art you saw that made you stop and look , Leave a comment at my blog post.
Feature Art/Product:
“2 Zebras”
This scratch board image was created from a picture I took at the Roger Williams Zoo.
When we go to the zoo we have to look for the animals sometimes. They have spacious enclosures.
I like how they seem to be looking at us.

Soldier Portraits
Darla Dixon organized a group of artists who will create no-charge compassionate portraits for the families who have lost a loved one in Operation Iraqi Freedom/Operation Enduring Freedom. We are looking for artists to join our efforts, and also for non-artists who will help spread the word about this free service and token of our gratitude to families who have sacrificed so much.”
