Works in progress:
I’ve started working on some scratch board images for my BankRI exhibit in February 2010.
Scratch board: scratch is a board/piece of paper with a layer of clay on it. Ink is applied by the artist or manufactorer on top of clay. I’ve been buying already inked scratch boards lately. The tools used with scratch board are an exacto knife or other sharp tools. The name “scratch board” comes from using a sharp tool to “scratch out” image. When a line is created with an exacto knife the under lying clay (usually white) is exposed.
Thus an image is created with white lines on a black surface.
Here is “tiny snow caps”.
