{"id":1063,"date":"2013-05-08T19:54:21","date_gmt":"2013-05-08T19:54:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/lisasart.com\/blog\/?p=1063"},"modified":"2013-05-08T19:54:21","modified_gmt":"2013-05-08T19:54:21","slug":"illustrationfriday-creative-fun-tribute","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lisasart.com\/blog\/illustrationfriday-creative-fun-tribute\/","title":{"rendered":"IllustrationFriday: creative fun- Tribute"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.illustrationfriday.com\">illustrationfriday.com<\/a><\/p>\n<p>word of week: Tribute<\/p>\n<p>Ok, so It&#8217;s not an illustration from me.<br \/>\nI was feeling out the word- Tribute and thought of the project put together by the Jewish Family &amp; Community Services- The JF&amp;CS Parkinson&#8217;s Community Quilt.<br \/>\nMy Dad had Parkinsons and died in 2010.<br \/>\nSo my family got together to do a quilt square for this project.<\/p>\n<p>I thought I&#8217;d share this special quilt square instead.<\/p>\n<p>by Lisa-me, my sisters,my Mom, and our childen- bubbie&#8217;s grandchildren, and spouses.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/www.lisasart.com\/fabrictellsourstories.jpg\" width=\"251\" height=\"247\" \/><\/p>\n<p>This purple heart goes deeper than the visual image of it.<\/p>\n<p>The heart represents the love of family.<br \/>\nThe purple color was first chosen for purely esthetic reasons. But we soon found serendipity in our selection. We recalled that my Dad had been awarded a Purple Heart in conjunction with is service in the U.S. Army during WWII. Thus the design reflects also his strong love and commitment to both his family and his country.<\/p>\n<p>The names on the heart are of three generations.<\/p>\n<p>There&#8217;s a thread that weaves our lives and connects us all.<\/p>\n<p>Thank you, Penelope<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>illustrationfriday.com word of week: Tribute Ok, so It&#8217;s not an illustration from me.
