{"id":1331,"date":"2013-09-18T21:42:05","date_gmt":"2013-09-18T21:42:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/lisasart.com\/blog\/?p=1331"},"modified":"2013-09-18T21:47:19","modified_gmt":"2013-09-18T21:47:19","slug":"art-and-the-viewer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lisasart.com\/blog\/art-and-the-viewer\/","title":{"rendered":"Art and the Viewer"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>\u201cArt and the Viewer\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I recently participated in Xos: Open Studios: Pawtucket.<br \/>\nI set up my display of art work and gift items in a downtown old mill.<br \/>\nIt\u2019s always sort of interesting for me to watch people come by my booth and look at the art work.<\/p>\n<p><em>Great art gives the viewer something to look at and ponder.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>In creating the art there are details as composition, color, light and dark values, techniques, etc.<\/p>\n<p>The viewer gets to see the work as completed.<br \/>\nThe viewer see what he\/she sees in the work. There may be feelings or thoughts that come up in the moment of looking at a work.<br \/>\nI notice that people look and then go for a closer look, seem to ponder, and then smile and \u201cThank\u201d me.<br \/>\nSometimes there is a conversation. While other times it\u2019s just a brief connection.<br \/>\nEither way it\u2019s good.<br \/>\nArt is for viewing and seeing. Click on the image above to read all about it and the artists who participated in it&#8217;s creation, as well as see where it will be coming to a location near you in the coming year!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Soldier Portraits<\/strong><br \/>\nDarla Dixon organized a group of artists who will create no-charge compassionate portraits for the families who have lost a loved one in Operation Iraqi Freedom\/Operation Enduring Freedom.
