Another year has begun.<\/p>\n
I had done some reflection on the past year.<\/p>\n
Then I thought about what I want to focus on for the new year.<\/p>\n
One thing I\u2019ve found helpful that I\u2019ve picked up in a coaching group I\u2019m involved in is coming up with a word or two words to focus on throughout the year.<\/p>\n
Last year I focused on Connection.<\/p>\n
This year I chose \u201cOpen and Creative\u201d.<\/p>\n
I want to be Open to what will be. Open to opportunities that show up. Aware of life\u2019s ebb and flow. Meet the crests and valleys the best I can.<\/p>\n
And of course, I have to have creativity in the mix. After all creativity can be quite an asset.<\/p>\n
To be able to see things at different angles and in different ways.
\nTo find the positives aspects and lessons in any situation.
\nTo find solutions.<\/p>\n

\nDarla Dixon organized a group of artists who will create no-charge compassionate portraits for the families who have lost a loved one in Operation Iraqi Freedom\/Operation Enduring Freedom. We are looking for artists to join our efforts, and also for non-artists who will help spread the word about this free service and token of our gratitude to families who have sacrificed so much.”
