This woman had recently bought a house in the neighborhood. So there was a double celebration- wonderful dog of 9 yrs and a house.
To add to this experience was the fact that my family has gotten to know these wonderful folks and met this little dog back when he was a puppy. Our girls just love him.
So creating a portrait of this dog was even more special.
The family presented the gift to her at the “dog b-day”- “house warming” party.
Everyone was very moved by the portrait I created.
And I was very touched by it all too.

Wonderful Karma moving around.

Oh, yet there was more good karma swirling in this time.

Second portrait was a soldier portrait.
I offer a service for military families to do a memorial portrait of a family member that died while serving our country.
This “Soldier Portrait project” was actually started by another artist I knew in a Pencil portrait group. Though this artist found she couldn’t continue running this project, I chose to continue on doing these portraits and project.
I have done at least 3 portraits along the way.

This one is my fourth.
I receive the information from a form that is filled out by client. I then email and touch base with them.
Over and over these portraits have brought out poignant moments.
There is the discussion with the client about the portrait and the military person… details on medium and size.
Collecting any other info necessary.
I create the portrait.
I send a thumbnail image for the client to review.
Then prepare with much care to send it to the family.
Throughout the process of connecting, talking, creating and sharing there are moments that bring out the best in each other.

And of course I’m grateful to the good karma back to me in response. A circle of positive energy.

“That’s awesome. Thank you.”

Nothing better than spreading positive karma to others where needed.

Art News

“Le Cadeau du Cheval“

Several artists in the Equine Art Guild were a part of this unique tribute to the horse.
