Things are Blooming<\/strong><\/p>\n

As my oldest daughter’s Bat Mitzvah approaches I feel some sense of time passing and yet being present too.
\nEach day is a gift.<\/p>\n

It’s amazing to be a part of and witness others being a part of a tradition and walking in the foot steps of others.<\/p>\n

This past weekend brought up another moment to remember and take in this sense of time.<\/p>\n

Saturday was the date my Dad passed away 5 yrs ago.
\nIn conjunction with this, Sunday was my youngest daughter’s 5th grade class trip to Ellis Island.
\nMy youngest and I went to New York City and saw the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island.
\nI felt immense\u00a0joy at being able to see the Statue of Liberty again.
\nYears ago, my family (Walds) met with our cousins in New York City to visit the Statue of Liberty.
\nI remember walking up the narrow staircase. \u00a0– the elevator was out of order.
\nDad was determined to guide me and my sisters up. \u00a0I was right behind him. \u00a0He would continuously encourage us to keep going. \u00a0We got to the crown. \u00a0I remember standing next to Dad and looking out the crown’s windows out over New York Harbor. \u00a0It was so special.<\/p>\n

Sunday, I got to share my joy and excitment with my youngest daughter. As the Ferry passed the Statue of Liberty, we admired her.<\/p>\n

What an amazing\u00a0statue she is.
\nHer tall structure is\u00a0a powerful presence. \u00a0A presence that enbodies the Hope and Freedom she stands for. \u00a0 \u00a0Her flame shone in the sunlight.<\/p>\n

The Statue of Liberty is a true amazing work of art… \u00a0a\u00a0work of art that stirs and moves the spirit within us all.
\nMany have passed before her at the end of their voyage to America.\u00a0They had strong feelings and often cried at the site of her. \u00a0Many have found her the inspirational sign they were looking out for.<\/p>\n

May we shine in our own ways as we move through our own lives.<\/p>\n

Soldier Portraits<\/strong>
\nDarla Dixon organized a group of artists who will create no-charge compassionate portraits for the families who have lost a loved one in Operation Iraqi Freedom\/Operation Enduring Freedom. We are looking for artists to join our efforts, and also for non-artists who will help spread the word about this free service and token of our gratitude to families who have sacrificed so much.”<\/p>\n
