“Ebb and Flow<\/strong>”<\/p>\n

Summer is waning. \u00a0We’re into the month of August.
\nThere are changes as we head into the end of summer.
\nThough days start out kind of cool, the heat comes on and the day gets hot.<\/p>\n

I feel a need to get going early enough to get things done and to beat the coming heat of the day.<\/p>\n

There is relief in\u00a0going to the pool or the beach. \u00a0A chance to get my feet wet and relax.<\/p>\n

Noticing the ebb and flow of my energy.
\nMornings I want to get going.
\nBy noon, I want to slow down as the heat tires me.
\nAs the heat dissipate at evening I find I can relax and do a few more things before going to bed.
\nCheck email
\nWork on some art worK.<\/p>\n

There are Ups and downs.
\nEbbs and flows like the tides.<\/p>\n

Though we tend to want to have control, we don’t.<\/p>\n

I have found trusting myself to know when to push-pull and when not to is critical.
\nWhen working on a art piece sometimes I’m really focused on the vision in my head. \u00a0I’m striving for it. There’s a pull to get it just perfect. \u00a0But I know from experience perfection doesn’t exist.
\nI sometimes have to be reminded to allow the creative energy deep in me to come through and out. \u00a0And it’s when I allow that the work really comes to be what it’s meant to be. Not through pushing and pulling alone. \u00a0But collaborating\u00a0with the creative flow too.<\/p>\n

So ebb and flow with it.<\/p>\n

Surrender. \u00a0Allow.
\nLet the creativity flow.<\/p>\n

\nDarla Dixon organized a group of artists who will create no-charge compassionate portraits for the families who have lost a loved one in Operation Iraqi Freedom\/Operation Enduring Freedom. We are looking for artists to join our efforts, and also for non-artists who will help spread the word about this free service and token of our gratitude to families who have sacrificed so much.”<\/p>\n
