Happy Birthday<\/p>\n

“50”<\/p>\n

Feb 7th is my birthday and it happens to be a milestone birthday , 50.<\/p>\n

wow.
\n“…how did I get here.” (line from Talking Heads song)<\/p>\n

I’ve had mixed thoughts about this approaching age.
\nThough I know it’s just a number, I can’t help the many thoughts that come through.<\/p>\n

What stands out at this point in my life?<\/p>\n

What’s been coming up is remembering to Surrender.
\nSurrender… to allow life to ebb and flow.
\nDon’t count on an intricate\u00a0plan, for I have learned how that doesn’t pan out.<\/p>\n

One of my favorite quotes is from “Mice and Men” by John Steinbeck.
\n“Best laid plans of Mice and Men often go awry”.<\/p>\n

“Ah, yes”, I say to myself when I think about that quote. \u00a0I have experienced that and have gained that wisdom, even though I may need an occassional reminder.<\/p>\n

I can remember when I graduated college, back when, and how there was a stirring Big feeling of “Taking on the world”.
\nHmmmm.
\nWell it didn’t pan out as I had expected and planned. \u00a0No surprise there.
\nThere were challenges that I faced off and met. \u00a0Yet \u00a0there were also some wonderful and amazing things that happened to me that I couldn’t have\u00a0even imagined.
\nRather rich and fulfilling.
\nThings to learn. And things to embrace with wonder.<\/p>\n

To allow.<\/p>\n

My experiences has been that as much as I use my head to figure things out, and even use my heart in conjunction, \u00a0I will at times go with my gut feeling on things.<\/p>\n

Maybe it’s because I’m an artist.
\nMy sensitivity, awareness and observing levels are pretty acute.<\/p>\n

That gut feeling has felt like an inner compass to me and has faired me well, I must say.
\nThat gut feeling has proven to be right so many times… \u00a0spot on in fact.<\/p>\n

With all that said, I must then continue my my journey with all I have to guide me.<\/p>\n
