{"id":1942,"date":"2016-03-22T20:57:19","date_gmt":"2016-03-22T20:57:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/lisasart.com\/blog\/?p=1942"},"modified":"2016-04-13T21:03:41","modified_gmt":"2016-04-13T21:03:41","slug":"something-old-something-new","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lisasart.com\/blog\/something-old-something-new\/","title":{"rendered":"Something Old, Something New"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&#8220;Something Old, Something New&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Over the years I&#8217;ve worked I can say I&#8217;ve seen some changes in work.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s interesting to look at my girls and think what a different world they&#8217;re growing up in than I.<br \/>\nThey&#8217;re growing up with computers, iphones and andriods.<\/p>\n<p>Back when I was young, when we were watching TV\u00a0we had to get up and \u00a0walk across to the TV to turn the nob to\u00a0change the channel.<br \/>\nNow one can stay and relax on the couch while pointing and clicking a remote to what channel we want to watch.<\/p>\n<p>My summer internship job during the years I was in college was in\u00a0the MA state Commercial Vehicle Division Department. \u00a0My first year there \u00a0I was a File clerk. The office was lined with file cabinets full of paper files. \u00a0The second summer was the year that the department was switching from paper files to data files on the computer. \u00a0That summer they would show me how to enter data into the computer. \u00a0My job changed from File clerk to a Data entry position.<\/p>\n<p>One of the skills I have as an artist is being able to create things with my hands.<br \/>\nI have painted in oils and acrylics. \u00a0I have drawn in Pen and Ink. \u00a0I at times have worked with clay, wood and wire in sculpture at times.<br \/>\nI have also used a computer to create art,\u00a0too.<\/p>\n<p>I would at some point in my life be in a position at a job where I did ornamental hand embroidery and hand sewing. \u00a0I worked for a company that made and sold the Masonic items to Masonic organizations, like the Shriners.<br \/>\nThere were somethings that couldn&#8217;t be done my a machine, so they were done by hand. \u00a0That was my job: to do the hand work.<\/p>\n<p>Here is a sample of Embroidery on a Masonic apron that I did.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/www.lisasart.com\/handembroidery.jpg\" alt=\"hand embroidery\" width=\"390\" height=\"282\" \/><\/p>\n<p>That job would come to a close when the company closed in 2001.<\/p>\n<p>In our present time now computers are a main essential tool. \u00a0 Many artist have taken up creating art work using the computer. \u00a0It&#8217;s changed up.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"IFhatLG\" src=\"http:\/\/www.lisasart.com\/IFhatLG.jpg\" alt=\"IFhatLG\" width=\"350\" height=\"435\" align=\"none\" border=\"0\" hspace=\"0\" vspace=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Pen and Ink<\/p>\n<p>We have quite a variety of tools to pick from\u00a0in our age. \u00a0It can seem mind boggling.<\/p>\n<p>Yet we should remember we are creators at the core, no matter what medium we choose.<\/p>\n<p>Best,<br \/>\nLisa G.<\/p>\n<p>Check out Great Gift items at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lisasart.com\">Lisa&#8217;s Art &amp; Horses<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Gift Certificates available.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Art\u00a0 News <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.lisasart.com\/mm-mosaic.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"245\" height=\"290\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.muralmosaic.com\/Cadeau.html\">Le Cadeau du Cheval<\/a>&#8220;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Several artists in the Equine Art Guild were a part of this unique tribute to the horse.
