There’s that song by The Beatles ”\u00a0All You Need Is Love\u00a0“.
\nI know. \u00a0Just Another Love song.
\nYet , What happens when Love is in the mix?<\/p>\n
We should love ourselves first. We are then in a place to share that love with others.<\/p>\n
We can feel love for someone special to us. \u00a0We can chose to create a life together.<\/p>\n
We can be in love with doing something specific.
\nIt can turn into a passion for doing work in the world, that in the end makes a difference.<\/p>\n
Love brings people and things together, where fear and anger break them apart.
\nLove helps healing, where hate break us apart.<\/p>\n
We can open up ourselves to someone, or something in the world when we turn toward it with love.<\/p>\n
My husband was stationed years ago in Italy when he was in the military service. \u00a0One of the gifts he brought home to his family then were some beautiful animal rugs.
\nHe held onto the one with Lions on it.
\nWhen we got married we hung the Lions in our livingroom.
\nOne day he pointed out that the tails of each lion were each covered by a plant in the art work. \u00a0He wondered if the tails were close to each other or not.
\nThat was one small detail left for the viewer to decide on.
\nSo he asked me to do a painting of it but make it so one could see the tails.
\nSo I did.<\/p>\n
Here’s my painting of it.<\/p>\n

Tails close to each other.
\nWe were engaged at that time.
\nWe’ve been married over 20 yrs now. \u00a0Through lifes ups and downs, love has helped us be open to each other and the possibilities.<\/p>\n
Love is there.<\/p>\n
Love is what we need.<\/p>\n

\nDarla Dixon organized a group of artists who will create no-charge compassionate portraits for the families who have lost a loved one in Operation Iraqi Freedom\/Operation Enduring Freedom. We are looking for artists to join our efforts, and also for non-artists who will help spread the word about this free service and token of our gratitude to families who have sacrificed so much.”
