“Cherish the Memories”<\/p>\n

This past month there were a few people we knew and loved, a brother-in-law’s father, a good friend, and step father-in-law that passed away.
\nReminded, though\u00a0we were sad, that we’re all connected. \u00a0Family and friends were there to support one another. We gathered to comfort and be present with each other.
\nThere was talk of memories of the person passed. \u00a0Talking about the times we had together.\u00a0\u00a0Remembering the moments that stood out for us.<\/p>\n

We are mortals.
\nEach life is just a unit of time in space.<\/p>\n

Yet there are some moments when we get a glimpse\u00a0that we are connected to something much bigger than ourselves.
\nAnd so we can feel not so alone but a part of it all.<\/p>\n

The below feature art work is a portrait I did years ago.
\nThe pony had been the family pony. \u00a0Many little children got a ride on his back.
\nTheir granddaughter would be at the farm on a show day and would eventaully get a ride on his back.
\nThe pony was on in his years and they wanted a portrait to remember him with.<\/p>\n

I did this portrait of “Oliver” with\u00a0their granddaughter on him.<\/p>\n

Soldier Portraits<\/strong>
\nDarla Dixon organized a group of artists who will create no-charge compassionate portraits for the families who have lost a loved one in Operation Iraqi Freedom\/Operation Enduring Freedom. We are looking for artists to join our efforts, and also for non-artists who will help spread the word about this free service and token of our gratitude to families who have sacrificed so much.”
