\nWe celebrate Hanukah. I do enjoy lighting the candles and saying prayers. Then I shut the
\nroom lights off and just sit and gaze at the warm glow of the candles.
\nChristmas lights:
\nWe bundle up and go drive around to see the lights. There is comfort in seeing lights here and
\nthere among the darkness of the longer nights.
\nFamily and friend gather together:
\nHolidays wouldn’t be the same without each other.
\nWarm, delicious food:
\nWell, food is part of the holidays.
\nSnow:
\nWe had a white Christmas. yay
\nCold:
\nwhen it’s cold one wants to just stay under the warm covers and rest. Do bears have the right
\nidea. \ud83d\ude00
\nSome thoughts as we are in the last month of this year, 2017.
\nHow was your year?
\nA mixed bag of some really good stuff, with some hard times.
\nWhat worked, went right?
\nI got some wonderful commissions that enabled me to work and connect with clients.
\nWhat didn’t go the way it was planned?
\nI fall back on Robert Burns’s quote:
\n“The best laid schemes o’ Mice an’ Men,
\nGang aft agley,
\nAn’ lea’e us nought but grief an’ pain,
\nFor promis’d joy!

\nSeveral artists in the Equine Art Guild were a part of this unique tribute to the horse. Click on

\nDarla Dixon organized a group of artists who will create no-charge compassionate portraits
\nfor the families who have lost a loved one in Operation Iraqi Freedom\/Operation Enduring
\nFreedom. We are looking for artists to join our efforts, and also for non-artists who will help
\nspread the word about this free service and token of our gratitude to families who have
\nsacrificed so much.\u201d
