“Sense of Community”<\/strong><\/p>\n

The girls are back in school and enjoying their classes. I’m enjoying doing things in the community.<\/p>\n

This year I\u2019m on the board of the PTO again at our kids school. It\u2019s an opportunity to be an active part of the community.<\/p>\n

I am also a member the Pawtucket Art Collaborative. They\u2019re a local arts community in Pawtucket. It\u2019s a group where artists can get together and bring the arts to the community through shows.
\nEvery Sept. the group puts on the \u201cThe Pawtucket Arts Festival<\/a>“.
\nThere are art shows, music, and performances as well as many other events.
\nI\u2019m participating in the Open Studio: Pawtucket.
\nI\u2019ll be exhibiting my work on Sept. 24th and 25th.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s wonderful to be a part of the events going on and especially seeing and meeting others at these events.<\/p>\n

Soldier Portraits<\/strong>
\nDarla Dixon organized a group of artists who will create no-charge compassionate portraits for the families who have lost a loved one in Operation Iraqi Freedom\/Operation Enduring Freedom. We are looking for artists to join our efforts, and also for non-artists who will help spread the word about this free service and token of our gratitude to families who have sacrificed so much.”
