“In Good Time”
I’m happy to report I’m on the mend. Our bodies do heal when given time to do so. Though impatience and restlessness do surface, I try to remember to breath and relax. Not always easy.
My hubby’s funny remark to Patience is “Patience. How long is that going to take?”. Yes, we live in a society that does seem to rush and want things, “Now’. Yet sometimes the sweetest things come with time, like a fine wine.
Slowly but surely I’m able to do a little more with my foot each day.
Like in the “Tortoise and the Hare”, we learn that slow and steady wins the race.
Rushing through could burn someone out, or in my case hurt my foot over again. Instead I can pace myself each day. I do exercises each day to flex it and stretch it and gradually I’m able to move it a little more.
This can be done with other things in our lives too.
Each week I take time to do something each day for my art business. Whether doing art work, or networking online, posting on my blog, each step takes me along my creative business path. I’m like the Tortoise. I started Lisa’s Art & Horses in 1990. I started out with note cards and selling them at arts and crafts fairs. I added T-shirts and portrait services along the way. I can say there have been times when I’ve had to change up some things I’ve done yet I just keep plodding along focused on my path. The journey continues on with some exciting things along the way.
I’m excited to mention I’ll be an Art Entrepreneur exhibitor at ICON7 (Illustration Conference) Rhode Show Bazaar in June. I’m excited about meeting others in the field and connecting with them. It’s June 13-16 in Providence, RI- see a link for more details below.
You’ll never know what will be on the path. One might miss it if one goes too fast.
Best to you.
Feature Art:

“Blue Ribbon Winner Tee“, was one of my first images that I had printed on T-shirts.
I have a selection of my other images on Tees at my T-shirt Design page.

Soldier Portraits
Darla Dixon organized a group of artists who will create no-charge compassionate portraits for the families who have lost a loved one in Operation Iraqi Freedom/Operation Enduring Freedom. We are looking for artists to join our efforts, and also for non-artists who will help spread the word about this free service and token of our gratitude to families who have sacrificed so much.”
