Happy Halloween
“In Disguise”
“Who, Who”, says the Owl.
Who or what are you going as for Halloween?
My youngest daughter really likes Halloween. She’s gone through a few ideas on what kind of costume to wear. My oldest hasn’t decided yet. We’ll be going costume shopping so we’ll see.
Thinking about Halloween and Masks.
In my studio among the things there is a “horse mask” from Ubiquity Stage’s production of “EQUUS”. It is one of 6 horse masks I designed and created with a friend. It was an amazing and very cool project. The horse mask is made of 9 gauge wire, ferrels connecting the parts of the masks and a leather mane. The mask was created to be less realistic and have more an essence of a horse form to match the psychodrama nature of the play. They were well received by the audience. That was in 2000.

“Where would it fit elsewhere”, I’ve asked myself. Who, What, Where.
Last Fall I had an inquiry by a High School Drama teacher about one of the EQUUS masks. He was going through the EQUUS play with his students. Though I enjoyed the connection, it didn’t pan out. The cost of shipping it over seas was a bit too much.
As time passes, It seems like every October and Halloween I find myself thinking about it , admiring it and wondering, “Who, who.”
